I am learning a lot from reading them since you do such thorough research and take many fine pictures. For example, I didn't know that Cackling Goose had become a separate species. Also I'm very glad you are celebrating the Great Valley. I like it for several reasons, one being the different habitats that are characterized at places like San Luis NWR. I remember when Hwy 99 was our only choice driving to the Bay Area and all the parking in the towns along the way was slanted in. I have been reading the geology blog for a long time and think that your photography is excellent. Particularly enjoyed the Canadian trip since it was new and different territory for me with outstanding scenery and interesting weather.
